Bill DuBose, CFP®

Wealth Advisor

Bill DuBose made a midlife career change to financial planning after a neighbor was killed in a car accident. As the community grieved, they also had questions about the widow and children who survived. Did the family have life insurance? Had they saved for their daughters’ college educations? It was then that Bill contacted his own advisors about joining the profession—one in which he could positively impact peoples’ lives.

Today, Bill is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professional who helps both individuals and families prepare for the best and the worst in life. His focus is on creating sustainable retirement plans, including a predictable retirement income stream and an investment portfolio that is in line with each client’s goals, needs and desires. A large majority of his clients are independent women, many of whom are in transition through divorce or widowhood. He particularly appreciates the opportunity to remove the burden of financial worry from a widow’s shoulders to allow her to focus on the process of healing.

Outside of the office, Bill is active in the McLean community—so much so that people are often surprised to learn that he isn’t a lifelong McLean resident. Some of the organizations he has served include the McLean Project for the Arts, the McLean Community Foundation, ArtsFairfax, the Greater McLean Chamber of Commerce, the Colorectal Cancer Alliance and the Virginia Hospital Center Foundation. He and his wife have two adult sons—one close by and one in Los Angeles. Bill loves to follow Clemson sports. Go Tigers!
