Chief Financial Officer and Wealth Manager
David Morton grew up in a family where money was tight and good financial advice was scarce. It was an experience that prompted Dave, who had long followed the financial markets, to pursue a career in financial services—a decision he has never regretted. Today, as wealth manager, he serves as lead advisor for Heritage Financial’s business clients, supports other advisors, and handles the firm’s insurance cases. As CFO, he manages the company’s financials, payroll, and monitoring of company-wide expenses.
Dave got his start in the industry by working on the news side of financial markets after completing his college degree. With his subsequent MBA in finance and investments, he developed an in-depth understanding of market theory and other economic concepts that he leverages daily in working with our clients. But it was while working in insurance and investments at MassMutual that he realized he could better help people by offering a broader offering of services under an independent business model. He joined our firm in 2008 to realize that desire and today brings a passion for smart financial planning and investing to every client and task he takes on.
David lives in Washington, D.C., with his wife and daughters. He is an avid traveler (40 countries and counting) and follows soccer and NFL football. Originally from Hawaii, he has brought a love of seafood and fishing to the mainland. He heads to Alaska each year with his father to fish for salmon and halibut.
